Food

A popular topic; the majority of food is cooked on the premises including cakes and puddings. We try to follow a fairly simple menu with a roast twice a week, fish twice a week, interposed with other fairly traditional meals. However, although our ‘Cornish Pasties’ are baked on the premises we have on rare occasions had to resort to buying in from one of the local bakeries.

Although much of our packet, tinned and bottled goods are purchased from the local supermarkets, we try to use local trades people where we can and so most of our fruit and vegetables comes from Beddoes one of the local greengrocers and much of our meat and eggs comes from Chris Rounsevell butchers at Upton Cross. JJ Moss is our milkman who apart from supplying the milk he provides our cheese and on cream tea days – the cream.
