Testimonies

We would like to thank the families who have taken the trouble to write and thank us for the care we have provided for a member of their family.

“Dear Judy & Charlie,

I write to thank you for the absolutely outstanding care and attention that you and your staff have all shown to Margaret and my dear Mother throughout their stay with you. The dedication and gentle assistance that you always extended to them has been remarkable and humbling to witness and John and I can never thank you enough for enabling both of them to have such a quiet, peaceful and dignified departure from this life. I always felt that they were in very safe hands throughout which has been a great comfort to John and me. I naturally miss my regular afternoon visit, not only to see my dear Mother but also you and your wonderful staff as well, and of course not forgetting the other residents particularly Terry who was always keen to know what was for tea! We will of course keep in touch and visit you from time to time & in turn John and I will always be really delighted to see any of you here if you are passing and have a little time to spare. Call in for a chat or a coffee or tea and bring a freind if you wish. As John says it would be a nice way to keep our friendship going and keep Margaret & Mum’s memories very much with us all. Thank you again for everything and I’ll see you again before too long probably about 3-15pm one afternoon.”

Dorothy was 100 years old when she passed away at St Anthony’s.

“Dear Judith, Charlie & the Staff,

Please accept my thanks for making Florrie’s last years comfortable and bearable. Although she never fully forgave me for ‘abandoning her’ she gradually became happy and content. She was of course particularly fond of Dee who could encourage her to do most things when she had a ‘stubborn’ day. Kerry and Sarah were also very patient – especially since caring for the elderly is not every 20 year old’s dream job. However, I do appreciate that it is teamwork and you ALL do your bit for the residents. A special thank you to Judith & Charlie for inviting us back to the wonderfull buffet – it lifted a huge burden from me, emotionally and physically, and was much appreciated.”

“Dear Charlie,

I would like to, once again, offer my thanks to yourself, Judy and all the staff at St Anthony’s for their professional and caring approach to my Mother during her stay. In particular please pass on our special thanks to Tricia who undoubtedly was a key to Mum’s care, support and comfort. I would like to offer our best wishes to you all for the future and would be happy to provide you with a testimonial should it be of any assistance.

“Dear Judy and Charlie,

I am writing to give the requisite formal months notice to terminate my residence at St Anthony’s Residential Home on Wednesday 28th March 2007. It is with some considerable regret that I shall be leaving. I am deeply indebted to you and your staff for the wonderful caring support I have experienced throughout my period of residence. This has been a major contributory factor in restoring me to health and strength again with sufficient confidence to return to my own home. As you know, I will have the benefit of three weeks holiday in France with my son and daughter in law prior to becoming fully responsible for looking after myself again. Please accept my warmest thanks for making me feel so much at home and part of the family at St Anthony’s. I will certainly miss you all, but plan to come and visit you (If you will have me!!) once I am settled in my bungalow.”

This resident returned home after a period of respite.

“Dear Judith & Charlie,

Peter and I would like you to convey our thanks to all your staff at St Anthony’s for the care and attention they gave to Mum over the 2¼ years Mum was with you. She was quite content and felt at home with you and from my personal view I was so pleased that you were willing to look after her in her last few days. Everyone was most kind and courteous to us at that time.
Best wishes to you all with grateful thanks.”
